Like her colleagues, Joyce Neilson experiences the unique challenges of her profession on a daily basis.
"Nurse have very busy schedules," says the Registered Nurse (RN) with the Horizon Health Network's extramural hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. "We visit several clients a day in their homes, In and out of homes and cars."
Those hectic schedules and diverse work environments result in one-of-a-kind needs that include the need to have the right bag to carry their supplies.
"Nurses need some sort of carrying case to have their day-to-day equipment with them. Our tools so to speak. BP cuff stethoscope, thermometer, bandage supplies and so on.," Neilson says.
She found her solution in CPGear Nurses Bags.
"The nurse bag helps keep the RN organized and efficient with our delivery of care," says Neilson. "Having what we need at our fingertips is important. The nurses bag is like having a clean utility with us in a clients home."
For Neilson, CPGear Nurses Bags has helped make her job easier.
"My experience with the nurses bag has been positive as long as I remember," she says, adding the bag prevents needless overstocking of bags.
"Nurses don't need the extra stress of overstocked bags on their shoulders," Neilson says.
Mark Wheeler, President of CPGear, is pleased to see CPGear Nurses Bags make a difference in how nurses do their jobs.
"What I want people to know is that the bags are specifically made for nurses who travel back and forth from the home to the hospital," Wheeler says. "The cases are made to securely hold the specific equipment and supplies that they use."
He says the bags are made specifically to hold certain pieces of equipment, blood cuffs, padded needle case etc. and were padded to keep the contents safe from the abuse of everyday travel.
As is the case with all CPGear equipment, the creation of the bags was a response to a direct need.
"We started selling nurses bags back in 1990," Wheeler says. "The original request came from the Extramural hospital here locally and they are still using them. Actually if you go there you'll see shelves and shelves of them in use."
The CPGear Nurses Bags are made with quality material and manufactured in Canada by CPGear located near CFB Gagetown. Celebrating its 25th year in business, CPGear is a manufacturer of military and tactical gear as well as premium brand name merchandise. CPGear incorporates much of the techniques it uses in producing goods for the military into its production of CPGear Nurses Bags.
"The bags are made in Canada with a heavy material called Cordura nylon, this is a dupont patented material that is extremely abrasion resistant," Wheeler says. "The bags up at the extramural have literally been in service since 1990. We also offer a five year warranty with the bags."
He says that the bags can be imprinted to have a unit logo and there are currently two versions available the Deluxe Nurses Bag and the Richmond Nurses Bag.
"The Richmond Nurses Bag was designed in conjunction with the Nurses at the Richmond Health Services in Richmond B.C.," Wheeler says. "The Deluxe Nurses bag was designed here with Extramural Nurses around the province."
